Chapter Two
Ronnie
I hadnât spoken to James at length like that for ages. Heâd been seeing that bloke GarethâI couldnât stand him, the pretentious arseholeâthen said arsehole had gone and left James for a man Iâd heard was free with his favors even when he was in a serious relationship. It didnât bode well for Jamesâ ex, but it did for me.
The split-up grieving process seemed to be over, I had my chance to get James to notice me, and what a fine job Iâd made of it so far. Heâd seen my dick already, for Peteâs sake, and I hadnât even asked him out on a first date yet. My luck was as shitty as it could be, and as if my indecent exposure hadnât been enough, Iâd let him walk out into the night without letting him know Iâd go to Dance Fest with him.
Now I didnât know what to do. Heâd been forward, leading me to believe he was interested in me, and his way of flirting had surprised me a fair bit compared to the morose James heâd treated me to recently. Heâd said he was a disaster waiting to happen, but I was a bit of a disaster area myself, which was why I hadnât had any successful, long-term relationships. Trying not to bite my lip when having a toe-curling fuck was difficult at the best of times, and on many an occasion Iâd set the sodding fire alarm off or made the doorbell ring.
Iâd discovered once Iâd hit my teens that biting my lip set certain things in motionâunexplainable things that no one would believe if I told them. Iâd kept that information to myself. Being sent to the funny farm wasnât on my bucket list, and to be honest, the crap that happened scared me.
Of course, stuff going pop and crackle and whatever had cooled any desire myself or the bloke in my bed at the time had been experiencing, and our get-togethers usually ended with us frustrated and the men leaving, never to be seen again. I couldnât blame them. Who wanted to fuck someone who made weird shit go on? Could I risk it with James? As we were neighbors, if everything went tits up, it could make for some awkward meetings when we bumped into each other.
Iâd long known I needed to find a man who was prepared to put up with my fuck-ups and accept me for who I was. But who the hell would believe who I was? I hadnât come to grips with it myself, so expecting someone else to was a bit of a long shot. James might be that man, and I wouldnât know unless I tried, so, putting my worries aside, I dressed in jeans and a tight-fitting T-shirt, similar to Jamesâmight as well show off my âcobblestonesââand thought of him.
Bloody hell, he was sex on legs and no mistake. Just the sight of him had given me such a rock on that Iâd had to fight with myself not to ask him inside and take things further.
